Weekend rides
Weekends are generally filled with longer rides to Melbourne’s outskirts, such as the Dandenongs, Frankston/Mornington or Hurstbridge as some examples, or gravel adventures and the occasional mountain bike ride to Lysterfield Park and the You Yangs.
We have a bi-monthly club ride where we meet at Halcyon Days and generally ride to Mordialloc, before heading back to Halcyon Days for coffee and a chat. This is a great ride for new members to get to know others.
Our weekend rides are generally no drop, meaning no one is left behind. However, we do ask that members read the ride description and ensure the ride is a suitable distance and elevation for them. If in doubt, our ride leaders will help. Please ensure bikes are in good working order, and members are self-sufficient with carrying spares suitable for their bike.
Ride FAQ
To ride with the club, you’ll need to be on a trial or full membership with Bicycle Network or AusCycling in order to be covered by third-party public liability insurance. Learn more about these trials on our Membership page.
If so, you are invited to come along to one of our many group rides to experience it for yourself.
Once you’ve decided that you’d like to ride with us regularly, we do require that you join Roaming Foxes Cycling Club via your Bicycle Network or AusCycling membership. Find out how to join the club on our Membership page.
Please visit our Membership page to find out more.
Simply email us at hello@roamingfoxescyclingclub.com and we will guide you to the best
group ride for you to come along on.
We use Stack Team App to communicate and update about all group rides, news and
Club functions. We use our ‘members only’ Facebook page for club communications
and sharing of photographs and news. To join these groups please request to join via
the platforms once you have taken out an RFCC membership. However, our
Instagram is open for anyone to follow.
While wearing club kit isn’t mandatory for most rides, members are encouraged to wear it as it promotes cohesion amongst riders and presents a unified appearance. However, for early morning rides, it’s mandatory to wear club outerwear (such as gilet or jersey) to participate in rolling turns for safety reasons.
Members without club kit can still join these rides but must remain at the back of the group and refrain from taking part in rolling turns. The Tineli kit portal is open frequently throughout the year. However we do have limited stock on hand.
